Car

You should park your car at Central Parking Facility as it is the cheapest option available. It is also close to the test centre.

Bus

The Central Station is about 0.4 miles from Test Centre.

Train

Lincoln station is approximately a 7-minute walk to the test centre, which is 0.3miles away. The train station is located at St Marys Street, Lincoln LN5 7EW.

Book a test online

You need your: UK driving license number. email address. Credit or Debit Card.

Before you start

You must have lived in England for at least 185 days during the last year before taking your theory or driving test, and you must have driven a car or motorcycle for at least 185 days within the same time period. A lorry or bus test costs £26 if you pass both parts of the test.

When you do not need a theory test

You do not need to take any theory tests before booking a driving test to upgrade your license. From category A1 (small motorcycles) to category A2 if you've had the license for at least two years. From category C1 (medium vehicle) to category C if you passed a car driving test.

A minibus should tow a trailer. You don't need to pass a driving test before booking a minibus.

What is the theory test pass mark?

To pass the theory test you must get at least 43/50 correct answers. To pass the hazard perception test you must get at lease 44/75 correct answers.

Can I take my theory test online?

BOOK A THEORY TEST AT Lincoln THEORY TEST CENTRE

Booking a theory test at an authorised test centre is easy. You'll need to provide your provisional driving licence number and date of birth. You can do this online or over the phone. Your test booking will be confirmed within 24 hours.

You should book a theory test by phone because you can talk to a DVSA member about any questions or concerns. You can also book a theory test online if there aren't any vacancies.

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLING THE THEORY TEST

You may reschedule your theory test for another day. Please allow at least 3 working days notice, including Saturday.

AFTER YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR TEST

The DVSA now send emails instead of letters to confirm your theory tests bookings. You should always check your junk folders as well as your inboxes. Print out this email to show to the centre when you arrive.

ATTENDING THE THEORY TEST

Allow yourself plenty of time to get to Lincoln Theory Test Centre. You need to be there at the scheduled time or you'll lose your booking fee. Your provisional driver's license photo card must be taken with you.

You need to take your passport along with your driving license when taking the theory test. If you lose your licence or forget about it, you can get a new one by contacting the DVLA.
