Train
The train is a great way to travel around the UK. It’s fast, cheap and easy to book tickets. If you want to travel long distances, it’s often cheaper than flying. Trains are also quieter than planes and offer better views out of the window. Public transport is an essential part of sustainable travel and helps reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions.

The test centres listed above will provide you with all the information you need to book a test at one of our approved centres. If you want to find out which test centre is closest to you, check out this list of UK driving schools.

Before you start
The first thing you should consider is whether you’ve got enough money to cover the costs of the course. If you don’t, then it might not be worth doing. It’s always better to save up some cash before starting a new hobby.

When you do not need a theory test
The theory test is only required if you want to drive a car that has had its MOT (motor vehicle inspection) certificate withdrawn or expired. If you're taking a course with a provider who doesn't offer car theory tests, you'll need to pass them before you start the course.

Help with your booking
The booking process at Worcestershire Driving Test Centre for theory test booking is quick and easy. Once you’ve booked online, you’ll receive an email confirmation which includes all the information you need to prepare for your appointment.

What is the theory test pass mark?
The driving theory test is a mandatory part of getting your licence in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It consists of three parts – written, practical and hazard perception. To pass all three sections, you must score at least 70 per cent.

Can I take my theory test online?
Yes, if you want to. The majority of centres now offer this option, but it’s worth checking before booking your test date. Some centres will charge extra for the service, so check what they charge first.

How do I revise for my theory test?
The best way to prepare for your theory test is to read all of the information provided by the DSA. It will give you a good idea of what to expect, and it’s free! If you want some extra practice tests, try our theory test revision guides. There are lots of resources online to help you study, including videos from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).

Can I change my theory test centre?
If you want to change your test centre, you must contact us at least 14 days before your test date. You will then need to complete a new application form.

Book a test online
The test centres at our schools are run by highly qualified teachers who will assess your knowledge and skills before setting you a series of tasks to complete. They’ll then provide feedback so you know where you stand and what areas you need to focus on.

Before you start
The first thing to consider is whether you want to take the exam at home or in a testing center. While it’s certainly possible to pass the written test at home, you will need to visit a testing center if you want to sit the practical test. If you decide to take the test at home, you must be able to access a computer with internet connection and a printer.

When you do not need a theory test
The theory test is a measure of your understanding of road signs, traffic lights and other vehicles around you. It is designed to assess your knowledge of the rules of the road and the ability to follow them safely.
