There are two parking facilities near the test centre. Both charge £4.00 per hour. Parking fees are payable either when leaving or returning to your vehicle.

Bus

The station is approximately 0.5 miles away from the test site, a 10 minute walk.

Train

Gloucester station is approximately a seven minute walk from the test center which is 0.4miles away. The train station is Bruton Way, Gloucester GL1 1DE. The center is located within Eastgate house, a large glass-faced building, which also houses various organizations including Gloucester Health Access, opposite the Istanbul mini market and TNT.

When you do not need a theory test

You don't need to take a theory exam before booking a driving test to upgrade your license. An automatic car license to a manual car license. From category A1 (small motorcycles) to category A2(medium motorcycles), if you've had the license for at least two years. From category C1 (medium vehicle) to category C (Large Vehicles), unless you passed the driving test.

A minibus can tow a trailer. You don't need to take a theory exam before booking a minibus or bus.

Arriving at Gloucester Theory Test Centre

Gloucester theory test centre can be reached easily by public transport. It is located close to Gloucester railway station. You can take a train to the test center if you want.

You need to take a bus to the test centre. There are two buses leaving from the same place as the test centre. You need to choose the correct one.

You're looking for Eastgate house, which is a brick structure with black railings around the entrance. It is located near the A430, so you'll probably be going towards this road. If the driver plans to drop you off and return later to pick you up then it should be easy. However, if the driver wants to park their vehicle while you take your test, they need be aware that the test center itself doesn't offer parking.
