The Horley car theory test centre is located on the outskirts of the town, near the junction of the A23 and M23. It is easily accessible by public transport, with a regular bus service running from Horley station. The test centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.

You will be asked to arrive at the Horley car theory test centre 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. When you arrive, you will need to present your provisional driving licence. You will then be shown into the testing room, where you will be given instructions on how to complete the test. The test itself consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, which you will have 57 minutes to complete. You will need to answer 43 questions correctly in order to pass the test.
If you pass your car theory test, you will be issued with a certificate, which you will need to take with you when you book your practical driving test. If you fail your car theory test, you can retake it after 21 days. You will need to pay the full fee of £23 for each retake.
