Should you Carry on with Lessons After your Test?

In recent years, concerns have been raised regarding whether the current UK driving test is fully preparing new drivers for the types of conditions they may experience on the roads today. The test has not been significantly updated since the introduction of the theory test back in 1996, and since then the types of common distraction when behind the wheel has changed drastically. Plans are now in place to adapt the UK driving test to make it more relevant to today’s environment, but a question many are asking is if it’s beneficial to continue with lessons after passing the test to ensure a more well-rounded knowledge and overall road safety.

Record numbers of drivers are skipping annual servicing at a garage due to increasing costs. Reports suggest that the cost of the service, coupled with repair fees and new parts from brand names could cost drivers between £300 and £600 every year. However, regular servicing is vital, not only for your own safety and the safety of others on the roads, but also for your financial future. According to Kwik Fit, more than half of car buyers wouldn’t purchase a vehicle if the owner was unable to demonstrate a comprehensive service history, and 19 percent would ask for a substantial discount. It’s worth staying up-to-date with car servicing, but how can you cut costs while still ensuring your vehicle is roadworthy?
