In recent years, concerns have been raised regarding whether the current UK driving test is fully preparing new drivers for the types of conditions they may experience on the roads today. The test has not been significantly updated since the introduction of the theory test back in 1996, and since then the types of common distraction when behind the wheel has changed drastically. Plans are now in place to adapt the UK driving test to make it more relevant to today’s environment, but a question many are asking is if it’s beneficial to continue with lessons after passing the test to ensure a more well-rounded knowledge and overall road safety.
