When the April winds get the better of you, why not think about what you might want to do when summer arrives. There are plenty of well attended car events virtually every year. If you’re thinking about summer, then here are some fun events for this season…
HSCC Brands Hatch
If you’re near to Brands Hatch at the start of July then you might want to enjoy this year’s SuperPrix Circuit. This event takes place between the 1st and the 3rd of July. The Circuit is for all classic cars taking part in the GP circuit, and includes an HF2 and E type challenge. There is no time or vehicle number set for the event yet, so watch out for this once summer comes calling. This event is great for anyone with an interest in historic motor racing; just check out their website nearer the time.
Lichfield Cars in the Park
If you are anywhere near Lichfield this summer (Samuel Johnson’s birthplace) the Cars in the Park event takes place on the 2nd and 3rd of July 2016. The event takes place in Beacon Park, which is just on the edge of this historic and beautiful city. The show starts at 8am each day and is organized by the city’s Rotary Club. If you own a motorcycle or a public service vehicle that you wish to enter then you should let the organisers know. Entry is free, but attendees are asked for a donation for the Midlands Air Ambulance, one of the Rotary club’s charities. There is a £5 attendance fee for vehicle owners on Saturday; more information can be found on the Cars in the Park website.
Americana International
On the 7th of July at Presswood Airfield near Loughborough, Leicestershire the Americana International begins and continues through to the 11th of July. The event is said to be Europe’s biggest “American Lifestyle” event , and is organised by Chris Jackson. So, expect to see thousands of American classic cars, vans, trucks, and bikes. Classics On The Green
Hertfordshire is a beautiful part of the country and if you are anywhere near the area this August then Classics on the Green is a great day out. The event happens on Croxley Green in Rickmansworth; it takes place on the 3rd of August and is the largest mid-week car event in the UK. A must for classic car lovers, this is the fourteenth year running that the event has been scheduled, and this year there are an expected 1800 classic cars. The fun starts at 3pm and goes on until late in the evening. The event is free, but you are asked to make a donation to charity. For more information visit the Watford Classics website.
