Following a Government consultation, plans to introduce more child safety related questions to the UK theory test have been announced, Book Your Theory Test Online understands.
Irrespective of whether a theory test candidate has, or plans to have children, the new questions will be introduced after the results of a survey revealed that 88% of new drivers had absolutely no idea how to secure a car seat, or what type of car seat would be needed for a child within a certain age group.
According to numerous commentators the issue of child safety should have been introduced to the theory test years ago.
Following the results of the aforementioned survey, it was revealed that 12% of childminders looking after another person’s child would remain indoors or venture out to a location within walking distance because they did not know how to safely secure a car seat in their vehicle.
